[Breaking]: APC: ‘Southern Governor’ Confirms Buni’s Removal
A Southern Governor elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress has confirmed the removal of the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni as the Chairman caretaker committee of the party.
There had been reports that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the removal of Buni as the chairman of the party.
The Governor whose name was not disclosed in an interview with Daily Trust noted that he was at the meeting where President Buhari ordered the removal of Buni.
He also confirmed that the Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello is currently holding a meeting and would take over from Buni.
The Governor added that Buni and the National Secretary of the Party, John James Akpanudoedehu would be removed in line with Buhari’s directive.
The Southern Governor while referring to the statement of Akpanudoedehe claiming that Buni had not been removed said “The statement by the caretaker committee describing the president’s directives on Buni’s sack as fake was funny because I was there when the president ordered for the Yobe governor’s sack. As we are talking, Niger Governor is holding a meeting. Buni and the secretary are to be removed in line with the president’s directives.”
The development has seen security operatives block vehicular movement at the secretariat of the ruling party in Abuja.
