Breaking: Voting Ends At APC Presidential Primary

The voting process at the ongoing presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress at the Eagles Square in Abuja has ended.

Voting of presidential aspirants which started on Wednesday around 2 am, ended by 7.45 am amid tight security and watch of aspirants’ agents.

The presidential primary which was expected to commence at 3.30 pm on Tuesday, started four hours late at 7.30 pm.

No less than 2,000 delegates from across the country voted for their preferred presidential aspirants.

The presidential aspirants hoping to clinch the ticket of the ruling party are Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Rotimi Amaechi, Ogbonnaya Onu, Rochas Okorocha, Dave Umahi, Yahaya Bello, Tein Jack-Rich, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Emeka Nwajiuba, Ahmed Sani Yarima, Prof Ben Ayade and Ikeobasi Mokhelu.

Seven aspirants who had purchased the N100 million forms of the ruling party stepped down for a former Lagos State governor.

The likes of Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, former Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, former minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio, former speaker of House of Representatives, Demiji Bankole and others stepped down for Tinubu.

The Vice President also gained the support of the youngest presidential aspirant, Felix Nicholas who stepped down to support Osinbajo’s presidential ambition.
