Bukola Saraki Slams Matawalle, Accuses Him Of Intimidating PDP Members To Join APC

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has been accused of intimidating members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in his state to decamp to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Naija News reports that the accusation was made by the chairman, Bukola Saraki Presidential Contact and Advocacy Committee, Iyorwuese Hagher.

The PDD chieftain lambasted the governor for attempting to blackmail members of the opposition party who has refused to join force with the ruling party.

Iyorwuese also bemoaned the removal of the State Deputy Governor, Mahdi Gusau, from office, describing the process as an abuse of the judicial system.

Naija News understands that Iyorwuese was in Gusau, the state capital on Tuesday for a contact and advocacy visit in respect of Bukola Saraki’s presidential aspiration.

While educating and trying to win the heart of the people of the state ahead of the 2023 presidential election, Iyorwuese condemned the administration of the APC in the state, saying it was bad to rule people by force.

He stated, “The fact is that you cannot rule people by force, you cannot rule people by intimidation or blackmail.

“You cannot use intimidation in democracy to force people to be members of your party. This is specifically what the APC government is doing in this state of Zamfara.

We are aware that for three times the APC government wanted to pull down the PDP headquarters in Zamfara because the deputy governor did not decamp to APC with the governor.”

He said, “The flagrant abuse of due process and the ridiculous extent to which they want to reduce the judiciary of this country is unacceptable to Nigerian people.”

The PDP chieftain stressed that citizens of the country as a whole were saddened by the removal of the deputy governor, adding that Nigerians are behind the people of Zamfara.

He advised the people of the state to make sure that only people of unquestionable integrity were elected in the 2023 general elections.
