Bwala Joins PDP After Dumping APC Over Muslim-Muslim Presidential Ticket
Popular politician and legal practitioner, Daniel Bwala has officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The development was confirmed by Bwala himself in a statement on Friday evening via his micro-blogging page on Twitter.
Naija News recalls hours after the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu on Sunday, July 10 while in Daura, revealed his decision to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket by picking former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate, Bwala announced his decision to quit the ‘broom’ party.
Tinubu announced the former Governor of Borno State as the APC vice presidential candidate despite calls against the Muslim/Muslim ticket in the 2023 general elections.
Bwala in a post on his Twitter account on Sunday noted that he is dumping the ruling party on principles and convictions that he holds so dear.
He wrote: “Tonight I officially resigned my membership of @OfficialAPCNg on principles and conviction that I hold so dear. At this time of our national existence, our efforts and energy should gravitate towards uniting our people.”
On Friday, 29th July, Bwala citing three reasons for his action, announced that he as joined the PDP.
He wrote: “Today I officially joined @OfficialPDPNig for the following reasons;
1. PDP presents a clear vision for one Nigeria.
2. PDP is the party with the realistic chance of defeating APC.
3. Atiku is the only candidate with superior experience to lead Nigeria out of the woods.”
