Chelsea Vs Tottenham: Tuchel Confirms Player To Miss Carabao Cup Semi-Final Clash
Chelsea and Tottenham will on Wednesday night clash in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg match, Naija News reports.
Addressing journalists, in a pre-match interview yesterday, Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Trevoh Chalobah will not be featured in the game due to an injury.
It could be recalled that Chalobah picked up a knock against Liverpool on Sunday in their English Premier League clash.
Providing the latest update on his team ahead of the Wednesday night encounter, Tuchel also spoke about Timo Werner and Andreas Christensen.
The German professional coach said: “Andreas is a doubt for tomorrow.”
Tuchel was quoted by Chelsea’s official website as saying at his pre-match press conference that “Trevoh is definitely out for tomorrow because he has had a reinjury from before.
“Timo Werner trained yesterday, we have one more session to go and he feels much better which is a really good sign.”
The kick-off time for Chelsea vs Tottenham is 8.45 pm, Naija News reports.
Meanwhile, Tuchel had said that Romelu Lukaku has apologized to the board and coaching staff of the club over his recent interview.
Lukaku had in a recent interview said that he wanted to return to Inter Milan because he was not very happy with the situation at Stamford Bridge and Tuchel’s decision to play him in a fringe role.
Following the interview, the Belgian international was omitted from the squad for the game against Liverpool last Sunday.
Speaking on Tuesday during his pre-match press conference, Tuchel said Lukaku has apologized and has returned to the team ahead of their Premier League clash against Tottenham.
Tuchel added that the forward will remain at the club and continue to do his best for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
