Coco Gauff reveals secret boyfriend will be shown off for first time this summer ahead of Wimbledon

COCO GAUFF has revealed her secret boyfriend will be cheering her on from the stands before she plays Wimbledon.

The US tennis star, 20, has kept her love life private until now.

She has reportedly had a mystery boyfriend for around a year, although his identity has been kept under wraps.

However, that appears set to change in the near future.

Gauff told People this week: “My boyfriend, he’ll probably come to maybe some tournaments in the U.S.”

Gauff is getting set to appear at The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which kicks off next week.

But her boyfriend won’t be coming to SW19.

Gauff said: “It’s just a little bit easier than coming to Europe.”

He’s also likely to be missing at the Olympic Games next month, although her parents will be there for support.

Gauff said of her Olympic support system: “I think just right now my mom and dad because it’s in Paris.

“It’s far away from home.”

Gauff qualified for the 2020 Games in Toyko, but was forced to pull out at the eleventh hour after testing positive for COVID-19.

She added: “Fingers crossed nothing happens to me at the last minute again!

“But I’m really happy to have my shot at a medal. Every time I see somebody else with a gold medal, I want one so bad.”

When she returns from her European escapades, she will potentially be reunited with her mystery man at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, D.C., beginning July 29.

Intriguingly, Gauff revealed how her boyfriend played an important part before her appearance at the US Open final last year.”

She said: “I just called my boyfriend, and I told him let’s talk until it’s time to go to sleep.

“So we spoke until 1am and then I went to sleep.”

World No2 Gauff has been drawn against fellow US star Caroline Dolehide.

They face off on Monday at 11am BST.
