Eddie Hearn blasts world champion for leaking negotiation emails as £7.8million offer for big fight is revealed

EDDIE HEARN has hit out at Gervonta Davis for leaking negotiation emails over a potential fight with Conor Benn.

The Matchroom Boxing chief tried to pit the WBA (regular) lightweight champion against the Brit after their back-and-forth on Twitter earlier this month.

Negotiations, however, ended last week – prompting Davis to share an email he received from Hearn on social media.

A frustrated Hearn told Boxing Social: “I don’t know why I waste my time with this guy, [he’s] like a baby.

“If you’re not willing to sit down and have a sensible business discussion, like, he doesn’t even know the details of the offer.”

Hearn, 44, told SunSport earlier this month that he expected his opening offer to be knocked back by Davis.

But he’s adamant it’s much more than he’ll make for his proposed domestic dust-up with Frank Martin.

“He’s going to make somewhere between 15 and 25million [dollars] to fight Conor Benn, pending how it does on pay-per-view,” Hearn said.

“I don’t know what he’s getting for Frank Martin.

“I hope he’s getting 20 million [dollars] because that’s a tough fight, but we’ll see.

“We made him an eight-figure offer with plenty of upside.”

Hearn believes Davis’ team are to blame for the rejecting of the offer but bears no ill will towards the Baltimore bruiser.

He said of Davis: “He doesn’t even want to discuss the upside because he just gets ill advice.

“But, anyway, I wish him all the best. Great fighter and good luck against Frank Martin.”

Davis hasn’t fought since his seventh-round stoppage of Ryan Garcia last April.

Benn, meanwhile, was last in action early this month against Peter Dobson – whom he comfortably outpointed.
