EFCC Should Invite Church Owners With Private Jets – Maduagwu
Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu has asked the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to invite General Overseers of churches with private jets for questioning.
Maduagwu made the request via his Instagram handle. He stated that the agency ought to invite clergies who have private jets with no business empire to show the source of their wealth.
The actor said the EFCC was operating double standards because they go after yahoo boys and ignore clergymen.
He went ahead to state that he has never seen an Imam in a private jet, stressing that why should it be different for pastors since both religions were serving God.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Bassey Ewah, has asked Nigerians not to give their phones to policemen who stop them at checkpoints without a warrant.
The deputy commissioner made this known while speaking on Wednesday, Nov. 10, during a question and answer session at the just concluded program organized by the Police Community Relation Committee.
According to the DCP, a warrant is needed before any officer can check the phones of Nigerians.
Ewah said police officers carrying out an investigation would present a warrant before asking for a person’s phone.
He then encouraged Nigerians not to give their phones to any officer who doesn’t show them a warrant.
He said: “I stand to be corrected; please do not give any policeman who stopped you on the checkpoint your phones; it’s not our schedule. If we are investigating you, we will present a warrant and then demand your phone. Please take note.”
