Ekiti Gov, Oyebanji Orders DSS, Police, Amotekun To Find Kidnapped APC Chairman
The Ekiti State governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has directed the Department of State Services (DSS), the Police, and the Amotekun Corps to join in the search for the kidnapped Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Paul Omotoso, and two others.
Naija News reports that the governor, in a statement on Sunday, asked the security agencies to not only find Omotoso but bring the perpetrators to book.
Recall that the APC State Publicity Secretary in the state, Segun Dipe, had on Saturday confirmed the abduction of Omotoso.
According to him, the chairman was abducted while driving along the Agbaso-Imesi Road when the incident happened.
Dipe said, “The chairman was driving in a Venza car along the road. The gunmen shot at one of the tires of the vehicle idle. He was taken into a Toyota Hilux van and drove off. He was alone in the car when the incident happened, according to our information.
“It happened in the evening, we got the information at about 6 pm. The security agencies – police and Amotekun – have been alerted, and they are all working on it.”
However, when the governor visited the family of the kidnapped chairman at Imesi Ekiti, in Ayekire Local Government Area of the state, to sympathise with them on Sunday, he called on the security agencies to find him without a scratch on him.
The governor also directed them to make sure the kidnappers are caught to face the law.
Oyebanji, who his Deputy, Mrs Monisade Afuye, represented, also assured the Ekiti residents that the state forest reserves extending from Agbado-Imesi-Ise would be resurrected and put to use to dislodge those using the area as a hideout.
