EPL: Arsenal Star Leaving Next Summer Revealed
French professional footballer who plays as a forward for Arsenal, Alexandre Lacazette is reportedly exiting the English club next summer.
Former Gunners, Kevin Campbell revealed this on Monday during an interview with Football insider.
Naija News understands that Lacazette’s current deal with Arsenal will elapse next summer.
The Frenchman, however, has the opportunity to speak with foreign clubs from January 1 for a new exposure due to Mikel Arteta’s preference for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as his top 9.
Lacazette’s playing time has been cut down by Arteta and the 30-year-old Frenchman is hopeful for a new challenge elsewhere.
Reports have had it that Arsenal want to bring in a new striker this January with the likes of Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lille’s Jonathan David all linked to the Emirates.
Speaking on Lacazette’s position with the Gunners, Campbell believes there is no future at the Emirates for the player and that he will certainly leave the club.
Campbell predicted that Lacazette exit may allow two to three new signings for Arsenal.
He said: “January is very close and Lacazette only has six months of his contract left. He needs to look at what is best for him.
“He is one of the big earners at Arsenal. I believe his wage could probably be used to bring two or three players in.
“It is a case of freshening things up. His replacement needs to be younger. That will improve the team even more. It is a normal trade that has got to happen.
“Lacazette is going to go and when he does that will make room on the wage bill for new signings.”
Lacazette has been linked with a move to Spanish giants, Barcelona, Naija News understands.
