EPL: You Can’t Coach Man United Players – Gray Tells Rangnick
Manchester United’s 0-1 English Premier League match loss to Wolves on Monday has been condemned by former league player, Micky Gray.
In his reaction to coach Ralf Rangnick’s side performance at Old Trafford yesterday, Gray said the new breed of players in the Red Devils squad are terrible and uncoachable.
Naija News understands that Man United started the year roughly, recording their first loss since Rangnick’s arrival at the club as manager.
The defeat also ended their Old Trafford unbeaten run against Wolves since 1980.
Criticizing Red Devils players further while granting an interview to talkSPORT, Gray who was a former player for Wolves, Leeds and Sheffield United, said they are lacking in commitment to the top league club.
“They [Wolves] deserve the points but it’s big problems for Manchester United. Major, major problems,” Gray told talkSPORT.
He added: “It was a disgraceful performance…it was so lacklustre. You cannot coach players who don’t want to be coached. That’s how I see this bunch of Man United lads right now.
“They were terrible.”
Meanwhile, relegation-threatened English premier league club, Newcastle has been warned against signing Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo in the January transfer window.
The club which currently sits in the 19th position on the league table needs a striker to replace injured Callum Wilson and boost their chances of winning the relegation battle, Naija News observed.
However, the club has been warned by former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, Paul Robinson to look for another option apart from Ighalo.
Robinson argued that the Super Eagles forward who once played for Watford and Manchester United is not a reliable striker or a top-quality striker that can save the club from relegation.
He went further to submit that the Magpies would be taking a massive risk if they decide to bring the Nigerian international to the King James’ Park.
“I think he’d be a massive risk. He is unreliable and I don’t think Newcastle are in a position where they can take risks,” he told Football Insider.
“Financially, they are in a position where they can go and get a top-quality striker who is less of a risk than he is.
“It’s definitely a position they need to address though given that Wilson is out. To stay up they’ll need a striker to be scoring regularly.
“I just don’t think Ighalo is the player they are looking for.”
