Fashola’s Tenure More Visible Than Tinubu Govt In Lagos – APC Chieftain
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has been charged not to claim glory for the successes recorded by the administrations of former Governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode.
A chieftain of the party, Tunde Bank-Anthony on Wednesday said the administration of Fashola was more visible than Tinubu’s eight years.
Bank-Anthony made this claim during an interview on Channels TV.
He further stated that Ambode was performing but was hindered from returning to the office for the second term.
There were claims that Ambode was stopped from running for a second term over differences with Tinubu.
Further reports had it that Tinubu favoured Babajide Sanwo-Olu who eventually clinched the ticket of the party over Ambode.
Sanwo-Olu went on to win the governorship election in the state in 2019.
Bank-Anthony who is also the spokesperson for Concerned Nigerians, said Tinubu is not the founder of modern Lagos.
He called on supporters of the APC Presidential candidate not to belittle the achievements of Ambode and Fashola in Lagos.
Speaking on if Tinubu has forgiven Ambode, Bank-Anthony said, it should be Ambode forgiving Tinubu for yanking him off for no reason.
He wondered if Tinubu hindered Ambode from running based on poor performance or for personal reasons.
Bank-Anthony noted that Ambode remains loyal to APC despite the action of Tinubu.
