FIBA Disqualifies Nigeria From African League
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has barred Nigerian representative, Rivers Hoopers, from the final round of the 2022 Basketball African League (BAL).
Naija News reports that FIBA made this known in a letter dated January 14, 2022, signed by its Secretary-General, Alphonse Bile.
The letter, which was addressed to the President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kida stated that the ban was with immediate effect.
In the letter, FIBA stated that the disqualification was a result of the non-conclusion of the local league.
