A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dele Momodu has reacted to the crisis in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Recall that political developments in the state took a dangerous turn on Monday morning with the sack of Edison Ehie, the majority leader of the State House of Assembly and the commencement of impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminilayi Fubara by 23 lawmakers led by the Speaker, Martin Amaewhule.
The lawmakers had accused Ehie of being responsible for the burning down of the complex. Ehie, was said to have incurred the wrath of his colleagues for being loyal to Governor Fubara.
They accused him of burning down the complex to stop the impeachment of the Governor.
The 23 lawmakers were said to be loyal to Fubara’s predecessor, former governor Nyesom Wike, who had fallen out with his successor and was interested in getting him out of office.

Speaking on the development via a series of posts on his X handle, Momodu berated Wike for his dictatorial tendencies.
The PDP chieftain argued that Wike was trying to control Abuja and Rivers simultaneously.
According to him, “Very sad and unfortunate, only one man wants to control Abuja and Rivers simultaneously… The Governor of Rivers under attack… Barely six months in government, the gentleman GOVERNOR SIM FUBARA is about to be impeached…
“GOVERNOR SIM FUBARA says he was fired at and his life is in danger… Please, pray for him…
