Fulham agree to sell Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich in £47.5million transfer that would smash club record

FULHAM have agreed to sell Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich in a club record £47.5million deal.

The German giants came close to signing the Portugal midfielder last summer before the proposed transfer collapsed late on.

Fulham will be paid £43m up front with an additional £4.5m to be paid in add-ons.

That means it will be a club record sale for the west London club, eclipsing the £44m they got for Aleksandar Mitrovic from Al-Hilal last year.

Bayern agreed personal terms with Palhinha, 28, last month.

He is now set to undergo a medical with the club for the second time in two years.

Last summer Palhinha appeared poised to sign for Bayern for between £60m and £70m.

He even completed a medical and posed for photographs with a Bayern shirt before the deal collapsed.

Fulham pulled out of the transfer on deadline day after failing to secure a replacement for the Portugal star, who is currently at the Euros.

Manchester United had hoped to hijack Bayern’s move for Palhinha.

Palhinha, 28, made 33 appearances for Fulham last season and has been ever present at Euro 2024, featuring in Portugal’s last three games.
