Full List: 2023 APC, PDP Presidential Aspirants That Visited Late Yar’Adua’s Mother
The hometown of Late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in Katsina State has become a centre of attraction recently to politicians in the country.
Presidential aspirants both from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have been spotted at different visiting times paying homage to the mother and family of the late leader, Naija News reports.
This is not unconnected to the aspirations of top political big wigs ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The Family:
Late President Yar’adua was born into a family endowed with prominent leaders. His late father, Musa Yar’Adua, was the Mutawallen Katsina and Minister of Lagos Affairs in the First Republic.
His mother, Hajiya Aya Dada Yar’Adua (still alive) is over hundred years of age and is now being celebrated as one of the virtuous women in the country through whom prominent leaders were birthed.
Having lost her husband and two among her prominent children; Late Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, the second in command in the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo-led military regime and late former President Umar Musa Yar’Adua who was succeeded by Goodluck Jonathan, Mrs Yar’Adua has become an individual to reckon with, especially for politicians seeking to clinch the most powerful political seat in the country.
Mrs Yar’Adua’s other son in the family business line is, Rtd. Col. Abdulaziz Yar’adua, Chairman of Rural Electrification Board and senatorial aspirant of APC, Naija News understands.
Also in the family trend is Mrs Yar’Adua’s grandchild, Murtala Shehu Musa Yar’Adua who was a former minister under the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
Naija News understands Mrs Dada Yar’Adua also has three granddaughters married to prominent politicians in the country.
