But Manchester United fans are the winners, with no change to the cost of the most expensive option.

Boffins at Seatpick made the calculations based on season ticket prices this season compared to the previous campaign.

Experts compared the new valuation with each city’s average wage, while also calculating the number of working hours required for fans to afford a ticket.

Across the entire Premier League, Wolves were the only side to reduce the price of one of their options.

United only allowed for a five per cent rise on their cheapest ticket, with the most expensive staying the same.

But only Chelsea and Spurs applied a price freeze across all versions of their season tickets.

Liverpool and Luton were also generous to fans, increasing fees by just 2 per cent across the board.

However, some clubs went in the opposite direction amid a cost of living crisis.

Fulham were the worst offenders, with their cheapest option rising from £460 to £595 at a rate of 29 per cent.

But their most expensive season ticket blew through the roof thanks to the opening of the redeveloped Riverside stand.

What used to cost £1,050 last season costs a staggering £3k this term, making for a jump of 186 per cent.

West Ham were the second-worst offenders as their top-range ticket went up by 58 per cent.

Bournemouth and Brentford both applied 35 per cent rises to theirs.

And Newcastle boosted their price by 30 per cent, while also increasing the cheapest ticket by 44 per cent.
