“Hilarious” – Buhari’s Top Aide Knocks ThisDay Over 2023 Election Result Projection
Presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad has disagreed with a projection of results for the 2023 presidential election which was released by ThisDay media.
Ahmad, who is the Special Assistant on Digital Communications to President Muhammadu Buhari and also the Deputy Director, Special Media Projects/New Media, APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) said the figures quoted for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu are inaccurately low.
Naija News earlier reported that the ThisDay projection analyzed a possible outcome of the 2023 presidential election and key states the major candidates may win.
According to the poll analysis, with the 2023 general elections less than two months away, there are tendencies that there would be a presidential run-off.
The stats by the THISDAY 2023 Election Centre showed the candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar coming clear with massive votes in 21 states with the APC flagbearer also hopeful of garnering massive votes from 20 states.
The stats also showed the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, coming fourth behind Peter Obi of Labour Party.
Reacting to the projection, Ahmad via his Twitter account on Tuesday said there is no way Tinubu would get as low as 45% of votes in Lagos State.
While boasting that the APC candidate would sweep Lagos, he said Tinubu would get atleast 80% of the votes in Lagos State.
He wrote: “Hilarious, so Obi can get up to 70% in Anambra, and you projected our candidate to get 45% in Lagos. You really joking.
“Asiwaju will get 80%+ in Lagos, Lagosians are for Jagaban.”
