Horse racing tips: Oisin Murphy and Andrew Balding can combine for victory at Lingfield

BELCAMO (1.00 Lingfield, nap)
Looked green as grass on his debut at Kempton last month. Even Oisin Murphy struggled to get much of a tune out of Andrew Balding’s newcomer who was out the back turning for home.
The former champion jockey was pushing and shoving for a while until the penny seemed to suddenly drop and he zoomed up the inside rail. For a moment it might even look like he’d land an unlikely victory before settling for a tight third.
That was a highly encouraging start and hopefully he’ll be able to settle a bit closer to the pace. If he can, his obvious turn of pace will get the job done up Lingfield’s short home straight.
GALLOPING ON (6.30 Wolverhampton, nb)
Is another who came home with a rattle last time out.
Clive Cox’s youngster bagged a car-park draw here in stall 10 last time which was always going to make life difficult. He missed the kick and had to work his way through the field before challenging around the home turn.
He made up plenty of ground inside the final furlong only for the line to come too soon. That effort showed lots of improvement from his debut at Lingfield and he has a much handier draw in stall one today.
Hopefully he will break a bit smarter and shouldn’t have so much ground to make up this time. That last effort showed his hand to the handicapper and he can get off the mark.
LIGHT SPEED (2.05 Lingfield, treble)
Has been living up to his name with back-to-back wins at Wolverhampton and Newcastle.
His opening victory came over 7f at Lingfield where his obvious stamina was an asset up that straight track. He then relished moving up to a few yards short of 1m1f at Wolverhampton where he had the race sewn up a long way from home.
He gets even further to stretch out here and can score on what should be a good afternoon for Balding and Murphy.
