“I’ll Win By The Grace Of God” – Oyetola Predicts Victory As He Opens Up Lead In Osun APC Guber Primary Election
The Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola has predicted victory for himself in the Osun State governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oyetola made the assertion shortly after casting his vote on Saturday at the Ward 1 Boripe polling unit.
The Governor who commended the members of the party for their massive turnout urged them all to shun violence and electoral malpractice in the primary election.
In his words, “Let me say that the turnout has been meaningful and I thank God that we were able to do it peacefully.
“All the members of the party have the opportunity to decide who will carry the flag of the party…I happened to be one of the aspirants as well and I don’t expect anything less.
“I want to appeal to all our people all over the state to please maintain peace. This election process should not be a battlefield. It’s should not be a do-or-die affair.
“There should be no violence. Let everybody have the opportunity of participating in his choice of who should be the candidate of our party. I think that’s the process and I think it has gone very well contrary to the speculation.
“I have called some number of places in the state, I think it’s been peaceful conduct of the process.”
This is as results that have started trickling in from the APC primaries indicate Oyetola is leading other aspirants in the race to the governorship ticket.
Speaking further, the Governor said he’s not bothered by aspirants that didn’t provide agents at the various polling units, adding that it’s their choice to do so.
He expressed confidence at emerging victorious when the final results are collated and announced and told the APC to put its house together to be able to confront other parties in the main governorship election.
He said: “I’ll win by the grace of God. I want to appeal to all of us to see this issue as a family affair. It’s APC all through.
“We should brace up for the challenge ahead. We are going to face another party in this campaign we don’t know yet.”
