Jermaine Jenas hints at next job as he teases ‘exciting stuff’ he has been working on after BBC axing

JERMAINE JENAS hinted at his next job by teasing “exciting stuff” in the works.

Jenas, 41, was axed by the BBC in August over his “inappropriate behaviour”.

The Sun then revealed he sent unsolicited texts to two female colleagues on The One Show.

He was immediately removed from air on both The One Show and Match of the Day, where he was lined up as a replacement for Gary Lineker, as well as his TNT Sports duties.

But in a monologue on his Instagram story – initially interrupted by his dog taking a dump that needed picking up – Jenas suggested he has some new projects in the works.

The ex-England midfielder said: “Listen, some exciting stuff that I’ve been working on, so you’ll all have that to look forward to very soon.

“Hopefully I’ll be back talking about what I love, which is football.

“I’ve been living the life of those Spurs fans – up and down, up and down. Forest getting great results at Anfield and playing well.

“So I’ve been watching, but I’m looking forward to getting back and talking about what I love most. So last of all, thank you very much and I’ll see you soon.”

Despite his BBC exit, TNT Sports are reportedly ready to offer Jenas a career lifeline.

It is understood they have no plans to permanently take him off air and he is expected to return to their screens later this season.

It is understood if evidence is found of any more cases of inappropriate behaviour by Jenas at the BBC, TNT would change their approach on keeping him on their roster.

Jenas is employed as a freelancer by TNT and also presents the broadcaster’s Formula E programming.

Earlier on, Jenas posted a video carrying his son wearing a Spider-Man outfit before addressing his social media silence in wake of the storm.

He added: “Hello you lot, obviously been missing for a while on the socials.

“It’s clearly been a difficult period for me but one that I’ll definitely grow from. We’re human beings, that’s what it is.

“You’ll learn from it. You’ll become a better person. Those are the things that are important in life.

“None of us are perfect and we’ve just got to find a way to keep moving forward, look after our babies and our families in the best way we possibly can.

“That’s something that I’ll be trying to do. Mainly [I wanted to say] thank you, really. It’s been really nice, the level of support you’ve shown me.

“It’s been a nice eye-opener as well. I kind of lost connection with my followers along the way and it’s been nice to reconnect with a lot of you who’ve been kind enough to send me messages.

“I’ve tried to get back to as many of you as I possibly can and I will continue to do so.”

Jenas hired a team of lawyers to assess the BBC’s handling of his sacking, and whether confidential information was leaked.

The former football star is looking to sue the broadcaster and confirmed a legal letter has already been sent to execs by his new representatives.

I am so, so sorry. It would be fair to say I have a problem. I know I need help. And I am getting help.”

A BBC spokesperson said: “As we have explained previously, he is no longer part of our presenting line-up.”

Jenas spoke to The Sun when the news broke of his sacking from the Beeb.

Speaking about the incident, the married father-of-four previously said he was “ashamed” of his actions and “deeply sorry”.

Jenas – who insists he did nothing illegal – added: “I have let myself down, my family, friends and colleagues down, and I owe everyone an apology — especially the women with whom I was messaging. I am so, so sorry.

“I think it would be fair to say I have a problem. I know I self-sabotage and have a self-destructive streak when it comes to my relationship especially, and I know I need help. And I am getting help.”

STRAINS ON MARRIAGE

Jenas is also fighting for his marriage to wife Ellie following the shock revelations.

She kicked him out of the bedroom the couple shared at their £1million home in Hertfordshire.

However, The Sun revealed Jenas denied new claims he sent a waitress unsolicited explicit pictures while working at the World Cup for the BBC.

A woman, who was a VIP party planner in Qatar, alleged the former footie star pestered her for bikini snaps.

Jenas allegedly sent a message asking “you want my boy now” before sending an x-rated photo of himself, as reported by the MailOnline.

But a source told The Sun: “Jermaine completely denies these texts were unsolicited. They were between two consenting adults.”

The woman who claimed she was bombarded by Jenas for bikini pictures alleged he sent pressing WhatsApp messages.

She said some read “I wanna see it now” and “you know what it’s like when you’re away”.

Jenas first made a name for himself when he came through at Nottingham Forest before spells with Newcastle and Tottenham.

He earned 21 senior England caps and officially retired from football in 2016 after failing to overcome injuries.
