Joao Felix transfer news – next club odds: Chelsea still in mix despite Pochettino ‘snub’, Newcastle price revealed

JOAO FELIX looks set to return to Atletico Madrid ahead of the new season after his loan spell at Chelsea.

But despite being brutally ditched by incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino, Felix’s chances of remaining in the Premier League – and playing with Chelsea – are still pretty good.

That’s according to bookmakers Betfair anyway, who have priced up a Chelsea return at 5/2.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo revealed that Felix would be heading back to Spain following his loan, adding: “We’ve been informed that Pochettino does not count with Joao Felix for Chelsea.

“He will return here, we’ll see. We have nothing planned.”

That return to Chelsea is just behind the outright favourite at present which is a stay at Atletico, currently an odds-on shot at 5/6.

With four years left on his Madrid deal, Felix is likely to command a huge fee, particularly after Atletico splashing out over £100million on him from Benfica in 2019.

He cost over £10million to Chelsea in a six-month loan deal, showing his potential worth.

A switch to La Liga rivals Barcelona is also in play, with 6/1 odds being offered there.

Where will Joao Felix be playing next season?

Barca had reportedly agreed a 70 million euros deal for Felix 18 months ago, with the move failing to go through due to their financial fair play issues.

The 23-year-old has also been offered to Newcastle ahead of their Champions League charge next season.

It’s thought the Magpies would have to split the £200k a week salary with Atletico after another loan deal was mooted.

Aston Villa and Manchester United come next at 10/1 with West Ham bigger still at 20s.

Felix’s time in West London didn’t get off to the best start with a 57th minute red card in the derby with Fulham to kick off his spell.

His return from a three-game ban saw him score the opener in a draw at West Ham – the first of only five goals in his spell.
