Just In: APC Postpones Offiicial Unveiling Of Shittima As Vice Presidential Candidate
The ruling All Progressives Congress on Thursday disclosed that the official unveiling of its vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima has been postponed.
The lawmaker representing Borno Central Senatorial District was meant to be presented to members of the party at the APC National Secretariat today (Thursday).
The Chairman of the APC Press Corp while addressing newsmen disclosed that the unveiling of Shettima has been postponed.
He further stated that the ruling party would disclose the new date in due time, adding that the date would probably be sometime next week.
According to the Press Corp chairman, the directive to shift the date for the unveiling of the party’s vice presidential candidate was given by the APC Deputy National Secretary, Barr. Fetus Fuanter.
The party, however, did not state the reason for postponing the announcement which comes amid the controversy over the choice of a Muslim-Muslim ticket by the party.
Recall that the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu on Sunday in Daura, Kastina State, announced the former Governor of Kastina State as his running mate.
Tinubu had visited President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura to intimate him about his plan to unveil Shettima as his running mate.
