Kidnappers Of Nollywood Actors, Cynthia Okereke And Clemson Cornel Demand $100, 000 Ransom
The kidnappers, who abducted Nollywood actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, have demanded the sum of $100,000 for ransom.
Naija News earlier reported that the top Nollywood stars were abducted on Thursday, 28th July, while they were returning from a movie set at Ozalla town in Enugu State.
A statement, signed by the Director of Communications of the AGN, Monalisa Chinda-Coker reads: “THE TWO MEMBERS WERE SUSPECTED OF HAVING BEEN KIDNAPPED, WHICH HAS INCREASED FEAR AMONGST MEMBERS ABOUT THE SAFETY OF ACTORS FILMING IN THE COUNTRY.
“BECAUSE OF THIS SAD DEVELOPMENT, THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF THE GUILD, EJEZIE EMEKA ROLLAS, HAS INSTRUCTED ALL ACTORS TO AVOID GOING TO THE OUTSKIRTS OF CITIES TO FILM EXCEPT FULL SECURITY COVER IS PROVIDED TO ENSURE THEIR SAFETY.”
In a new development, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas, disclosed that the abductors have contacted the families of the actors and are demanding a huge sum of money.
According to Rollas, the Guild is working with the security agents, while hoping for God’s intervention to rescue the actors unhurt.
Cynthia Okereke Bank Account Cleared
In an interview with Saturday Beat, Rollas disclosed that the kidnappers have cleared the bank account of Cynthia Okereke after the abduction.
He said: “We have not confirmed the kidnap as it were. the only thing we know is that all the money in cynthia okereke’s account was cleared this morning (friday).”
