Kwara: Why I Am Working For PDP Governorship Candidate — Lai’s Aide
Kayode Ogunlowo, an aide of the minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed on Thursday revealed why he would be supporting the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State, Shuaib Yaman.
According to Ogunlowo, he decided to work with Yaman because of their relationship while he was in the All Progressives Congress.
Ogunlowo stated this after meeting with the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki at his Broadway GRA residence in Ilorin on Wednesday.
He, however, stated that Lai Mohammed remains his leader despite his support for the PDP candidate in 2023.
Ogunlowo while speaking on his decision in an interview with Daily Trust said, “I didn’t leave Alhaji Lai Mohammed for Saraki. He is my leader and remains my leader. But the situation in Kwara now is different.
“What prompted my move, among others, was that Yaman had been somebody I had worked with while we were in APC and I was surprised that he got the ticket against our expectations. That showed that things have changed with Saraki. And then he, Yeman, invited me to come and work with him.
“The calculation on the ground now is that APC is divided and PDP is the only party that has the structure to compete against it, unlike the SDP, which is even still having its troubles and struggles.”
