‘Wike Stance On Ayu’s Resignation Represent Hearts Of People Of South- East’- PDP Chieftain
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Barr Chijioke Agbo has said the insistence of Governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike on Sen Iyorcha Ayu’s resignation as the national chairman of the party to pave way for the emergence of a southerner, represents the heart of a majority of the people of the South East.
Agbo made this known on Friday in Enugu during the political program of Dream FM, an Enugu-based radio station.
Agbo regretted the deception meted out to the South-East region by the PDP, noting that PDP might lose the support of the region by its failure to maintain its zoning principles.
He further maintained the emergence of Adolphus Wabara as the BoT chairman won’t solve the problem as it is a cosmetic approach.
2023: APC Has No Option But To Win 2023 Presidency – Adamu
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, says the party will do its best to ensure that it wins the 2023 presidential election.
Naija News reports that Adamu said this on Thursday when he received Oluremi, the wife of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
The Senator was accompanied by Nana, wife of Kashim Shettima, the party’s vice-presidential candidate, and other women leaders of the party.
Adamu stated that the ruling does not have any option but to win the 2023 presidential election, adding that the party is not working to end up at the tribunal.
The APC chairman pointed out that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) is ready to work with all women leaders across the country.
2023: Gumi, Tukur Mamu And Atiku Are Close Associates Who Hate Buhari – Fani-Kayode
Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has said that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar is affiliated with the recently detained terrorists’ negotiator, Tukur Mamu and his principal, Ahmad Gumi.
Recall that Naija News had earlier reported that the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Mamu, on Wednesday.
Mamu, who was reportedly arrested at the Cairo International Airport on Tuesday and repatriated back to Nigeria, was picked up by DSS from the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano upon his deportation from Egypt
Mamu was said to be on his way to Saudi Arabia with his family members for lesser Hajj before he was arrested and detained by Egyptian authorities for 24 hours.
He was arrested by heavily armed operatives stationed at the entrance of the international wing of the Kano at about 1:55 pm.
Further investigations have revealed that the DSS found incriminating materials when they raided the lead negotiator’s home on Thursday.
Speaking on Mamu’s arrest in a statement on Friday, FFK has however alleged that Atiku, Mamu and Gumi are associates.
Wike vs Atiku: Give Igbos National Chairman Position Or We Take Our Votes Elsewhere – Group Threatens PDP
A socio-political group known as the South East Revival Group (SERG) has threatened that Igbos would not vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections except certain conditions are met.
SERG in a statement on Friday signed by its President and National Coordinator, Chief Willy Ezugwu rejected the post of Board of Trustees (BOT) chairman given to the region by the PDP, saying anything short of the chairmanship position is not good enough.
The group cautioned that the PDP by its actions so far is following the path of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by deliberately denying Igbos and the southeast deserving leadership positions.
The statement argued that the PDP presidential ticket should have naturally gone to the south but the region was manipulated out of it.
Ezugwu added in the statement that the PDP is showing signs that it has no regard for the region and except the party turns a new leaf, it will suffer the consequences in the forthcoming 2023 polls.
Borno: We Are Being Harassed, Tortured By Zulum, APC – PDP Members
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Borno State chapter has claimed that they are constantly being bullied by the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The PDP made the allegation via a statement made available by its Publicity Secretary, Amos Adziba.
Adziba raised the alarm, following the arrest, harassment and torture of some members of the party by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force on Wednesday.
The publicity secretary insisted that the attack was carried out under the directive of the state government in Konduga Local Government Area of the state.
Adziba warned the state government under the leadership of Governor Babagana Zulum, to desist from using force to silence the opposition.
Atiku Vs Wike: Jibrin’s Resignation Not Enough To End PDP Crisis – Nwuke
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogbonna Nwuke, says the resignation of Senator Walid Jibrin as the Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman isn’t enough to solve the crisis rocking the party.
Naija News reports that Jibrin resigned from his position on Thursday at the 97th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Following Jibrin’s resignation, former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara emerged as the new PDP BoT Chairman of the opposition party.
In an interview with TheGuardian, Nwuke said Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his allies cannot be appeased with the resignation of Jibrin.
The former member of the House of Representatives said BoT was only an advisory body, which has not much effect on the party crisis.
He added that the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, cannot come from the North, which he said negates fairness and equity.
PDP Crisis: Walid Jibrin Forced Out To Keep Ayu In Office – Nwogu
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olaka Nwogu has accused stakeholders in the party of forcing the outgone chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Walid Jibrin to resign.
According to the former lawmaker, Jibrin was pushed to resign to keep the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu in office.
Naija News had earlier reported that the BoT chairman announced his resignation at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Thursday in Abuja.
Nwogu while speaking on Arise TV on Friday said Jibrin’s office is not affected by the issue on the ground at the party.
He further stated that Jibrin was forced out to make it look like the South had been allowed to take charge of the position.
There had been outcries over the northerners taking charge of sensitive positions in the party.
PDP BoT Chairman, Adolphus Wabara Speaks On Party Crisis
The new chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adolphus Wabara, has reacted to the crisis rocking the opposition party.
Naija News reports that the internal crisis rocking the party began after the emergence of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as the party’s 2023 presidential candidate with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike who was defeated at the May primaries in Abuja, feeling cheated.
The Rivers governor, however, has been making demands, the top of which is the resignation of the national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu as a condition for peace. All attempts made so far to resolve the crisis have not yielded positive results.
Speaking at the PDP NEC meeting on Thursday, Wabara cautioned against reckless statements by members that can further escalate this crisis.
The former President of the Senate said the PDP has an inbuilt mechanism to solve problems.
We Can’t Return To Dark Days Of PDP – Kwara Gov AbdulRasaq
The executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has claimed that the state under the administration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was without any development to reckon with.
The governor said due to that, the citizens would not want to return to the dark days as experienced during the PDP administration.
Naija News reports that Abdulrazaq made the statement while addressing newsmen in Lagos yesterday.
The incumbent governor, who is seeking a second term, said the healthcare sector, education, rural-urban development, water facilities, and workers’ welfare suffered setbacks in the previous administration.
He said his government, however, has invested so much in the sectors to bring about development.
Abdulrazaq expressed confidence that APC would retain power in the forthcoming general elections considering the significant progress the Otoge administration has made across sectors between 2019 and now.
