2023: Why I Withdrew From Senatorial Race – Women Affairs Minister
The Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen has revealed why she withdrew from her 2023 senatorial ambition.
Tallen gave her reason while speaking during a virtual programme on Monday.
The minister noted that she withdrew from the race to support the senator representing the district who is a woman.
Benue 2023: I have No Anointed Candidate – Ortom
Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom on Monday said he and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state have not anointed a candidate for any position.
The Governor noted that the party would conduct transparent primaries to ensure credible candidates are selected for the general election.
He stated this while addressing the enlarged caucus meeting of the party in Makurdi.
According to the governor, the idea was in compliance with the amended Electoral Law, 2022, that all aspirants who have obtained nomination forms and have been screened are free to participate in the primaries.
2023 Presidency: I’ve Not Resigned From My Position – Sylva
The Minister of State for Petroleum, and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, has disclosed that he is yet to resign from his position.
Naija News reports that Sylva was among the ministers who declared their presidential ambition and purchased the N100 million expression of interest and nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed ministers and heads of government agencies seeking elective offices to resign on or before Monday, May 16.
On Friday, the President met with the ministers with political ambition during a valedictory session organised at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
However, some ministers have jettisoned their political ambitions and decided to remain in office before the expiration of the President’s ultimatum.
In a chat with Daily Trust over the weekend, the spokesman to the minister, Julius Bokoru, said his boss has not resigned from his position and has not vacated his office.
Osun 2022: Oyetola’s Campaign Council Reacts To Adeleke’s Viral Video
The campaign council of the Osun State governor, Gboyega Oyetola has reacted to the viral video of the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke.
Senator Adeleke while addressing supporters of the party in Osun had vowed to surpass the financial strength of the All Progressives Congress.
The Governorship candidate stated that he has the money in Naira and foreign currencies to win the 2022 governorship election.
Adeleke noted that he is well prepared to defeat Gboyega Oyetola and the ruling party in the forthcoming election.
The Oyetola campaign council while reacting said Osun is not for sale to the highest bidder in the July 16 governorship election.
The Director-General of the campaign council, Ajibola Bashiru, on Monday in Osogbo, said that the boast by Adeleke to have enough money both local and in foreign currencies to execute his political ambition was embarrassing.

The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has revealed how the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi rescued him from the Department of State Services (DSS) detention.
El-Rufai while speaking during Amaechi’s visit to Kaduna State, said his wife will never forget what Amaechi did to rescue him from the secret police.
Amaechi had visited the state on Sunday to seek the support of delegates of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the presidential primary of the party.
The Kaduna State Governor narrated how Amaechi drove him to the office of the DSS and ensured that he was released on the same day.
2023: Amosun Speaks On Stepping Down From 2023 Presidential Race For Tinubu
Former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has denied reports that he has stepped down from contesting the ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 presidential election.
He also debunked insinuations that he has obtained the party’s senatorial forms as aback up should he fail in the moves to emerge as the APC presidential candidate.
According to Amosun, he is in the race to win the APC ticket as well as the 2023 presidential election and has no plans to align or step down for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu or any other aspirant has been muted in some quarters.
The denial was given in a statement by his media aide, Bola Adeyemi after rumours emerged about a possible alignment with the Tinubu camp or nursing plans to return to the Senate.
He said such reports are totally fake.
2023: Identities Of APC Govs Reportedly Backing Tinubu’s Presidential Ambition Revealed
The identities of Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) supporting the 2023 presidential ambition of the party’s national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have been revealed.
Naija News understands that the governors have backed Tinubu to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 and have started mobilizing for the presidential hopeful ahead of the party’s presidential primaries in Abuja.
The 12 APC governors were said to have endorsed Tinubu and proceeded to sign his Expression of Interest and Presidential Nomination forms, which were submitted by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
It was further learned that apart from the governors, 370 statutory delegates have also thrown their weight behind the former governor of Lagos state.
NNPP vs APC, PDP: Senator Kwankwaso Best Candidate To Replace Buhari – Buba Galadima
A former member of the board of trustees (BoT) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Buba Galadima has said Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is the best candidate to replace President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Galadima claimed that Kwankwaso, a former Kano State Governor, will run unopposed on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The one-time ally of President Muhammadu Buhari said the popularity of the NNPP is making the APC and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) shiver.

The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Akinwumi Adesina, has reportedly met Mamman Daura, President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew.
Naija News gathered that Adesina met last week with Mallam Daura behind closed doors at his Abuja residence.
It was gathered that the meeting was held to intensify lobby for the AfDB president to win the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket.
Adesina was said to have met with relatives of the President in Niger Republic, to see if they can convince Buhari to back him.
