Lawmakers Trying To Remove Me As Deputy Minority Leader Are Shamelessly Dancing To Whatever Music Kwankwaso Plays – Madaki
The Deputy Minority leader of the House of Representatives, Ali Madaki, has claimed that the plot to remove him from his position is being orchestrated by former Kano Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Nigerian, he stated that the attempt to remove him by the “sacked national leadership” of the NNPP was a futile plot.
He added that it was desperation taken too far by those who regard Kwankwaso as the Alpha and Omega.
He explained that the NNPP caucus lacks the powers to remove him.
Madaki said, “Order 7, Rule 14 of the House Standing Order states that, ‘After due notice to the House, the majority party and the minority parties may change their leader and whip, deputy leader and deputy whip, provided that the change is made by the majority of the member parties in the House themselves.
“Those who signed the letter are not members of our party. The chairman and his NWC members have been sacked by a recent court judgement. So it’s just an effort in futility. Based on the court judgement, Kwankwaso is not a member of the NNPP.
“Even some of those lawmakers who purportedly signed the endorsement are not members of our party.
“But you know they will always shamelessly dance to whatever music Kwankwaso plays for them.
“I am unperturbed by their propaganda strategy. And the good thing is that the legitimate leadership of the NNPP led by Chief Boniface Aniebonam will address the press on the issue.”
