Man Utd CEO Richard Arnold resigns as official formally becomes first casualty of Sir Jim Ratcliffe takeover
RICHARD ARNOLD has become the first casualty of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s takeover after resigning from Manchester United’s board.
The respected chief had already left his role at the Red Devils’ CEO in November.

And he will no longer play any part in the decision making at Old Trafford in the new Ratcliffe and Ineos era.
Arnold formally stepped down from United’s board last week.
An official filing from the club today confirmed his exit, three months after he quit as CEO.
In Arnold’s place, Ineos co-founder John Rees and Ineos sport chairman Rob Nevin have both been added to United’s board.
Ratcliffe and his petrochemicals company saw their £1.6billion takeover confirmed by the Premier League and FA yesterday.
British billionaire Ratcliffe and Ineos now control 27.7 per cent of United.
That will eventually rise to 30 per cent with an additional £238million of funding.
And they have taken charge of all football-related matters.

Former Man City chief Omar Berrada has already been confirmed as United’s new CEO.
Ratcliffe also hopes to appoint Newcastle’s Dan Ashworth as Director of Football.
And he wants Chelsea data king Kyle Macauley as head of recruitment.
Ratcliffe even hopes to build a new stadium, which is already being dubbed the “Wembley of the North.”
Arnold first joined United in 2008 as group commercial director.
He was promoted to director in 2013.
And Arnold then became CEO in 2022 after replacing Ed Woodward.
Joel Glazer said in November: “I would like to thank Richard for his outstanding service to Manchester United over the past 16 years, and wish him all the best for his future endeavours.”
Arnold added: “It has been an incredible privilege to serve this great football club for the past 16 years.
“Through highs and lows, the constant has been the dedication of our employees and fans. I would like to thank all of them for their loyalty and commitment, and wish everyone associated with the club the very best for the future.”
