Man Utd line up shock transfer for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah after Sir Jim Ratcliffe imposes new rules
MANCHESTER UNITED are weighing up a bid for Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah, according to reports.
New chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe is keen to sign a centre-back this summer after the departure of Raphael Varane.

United are considering making an offer for Chalobah as he fits the new Old Trafford transfer policy.
Ratcliffe only wants to sign players under the age of 25 and does not want Galatico signings.
Any signing will need the manager’s approval, which could delay Man Utd’s move for Chalobah with Erik ten Hag’s future still uncertain.
But Chelsea are supposedly open to selling the player this summer to help balance the books in order to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Chalobah, 24, came through the Blues’ academy and is therefore classed as a homegrown player.
And any cash brought in through selling him will count as 100 per cent profit, with the latest PSR cutoff on June 30.
Chelsea may be forced into selling either Chalobah or Conor Gallagher to avoid breaking the regulations, which can lead to a possible points deduction as punishment.
The West London club want £25million for the defender, according to The Independent.
Chalobah’s contract runs until 2028 and their is an option for a year’s extension.
He played 17 times for the club last season but missed a large proportion of the season due to a thigh issue.
Chalobah featured heavily under Thomas Tuchel, who tried to sign him when he was at Bayern Munich in January.
