Man Utd miss out on transfer target they’ve monitored for SIX YEARS to Belgian minnows despite ‘having fee agreed’

The 20-year-old has been on United‘s radar for the last six years.

However, he is set to snub a move to Old Trafford in favour of joining Belgian Pro League side STVV.

According to Manchester Evening News, Man Utd agreed a fee with Urawa Red Diamonds for Suzuki this summer.

Previous reports claimed that it was worth around £5million – the most expensive fee in J-League history.

The Red Devils had planned to continue developing the goalkeeper for two years before promoting him to the first team.

But Suzuki’s desire to represent Japan at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris was a huge factor in his decision to join Belgian minnows STVV.

Man Utd have already signed Andre Onana this summer.

The 27-year-old joined the Red Devils in a £47m transfer from Inter Milan last month, making him the third-most expensive goalkeeper in football history.

He signed a five-year deal with an option for a further season upon his arrival.
