As the Nollywood industry continues to evolve, people no longer see the profession as being filled with ‘unserious’ people and the notion has since been discarded.

Surprisingly, the entertainment industry now has lots of intellectuals, professionals, and doctorate degree holders.

In this article, Naija News lists five Nollywood actors who are lecturers in different Nigerian universities.

Samuel Dedetoku: The award-winning actor popularly known as Sam Dede is known for his role in the epic movie ‘ISSAKABA’ which endeared him to many movie lovers.

He was a lecturer at the University of Lagos before he moved to the Theatre arts department of the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Joke Silva: The veteran actress is a lecturer at the Kwara State University, where she lectures in the department of theatre Arts. She was once appointed as the head of the Nollywood film studio ‘Malete Film Village’ at Kwara State University Illorin.

Joke Silva became the director of studies at the Royal Arts Academy in 2006.

Hafiz Oyetoro: The comic Nollywood actor popularly known as Saka is a senior lecturer at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education in Ijaniki, Lagos State.

Joke Muyiwa: She is one of the most astute actresses in the Nollywood industry, who has been lecturing since 2003.

The multi-talented actress was appointed head of the department of Performing Arts at Olabisi Onabanjo University in 2010.

Peter Fatomilola: Peter Fatomilola is another Nigerian Nollywood actor and professor who has been tasked with training people.

The 76-year-old legendary actor graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, where he has worked as a lecturer and dramatic arts instructor for over 20 years.
