Mike Tyson urged to make major change to training footage to prove he’s ready for Jake Paul

JOE ROGAN has called for Mike Tyson to prove he is fit enough to take on Jake Paul.

Tyson is just over two months away from his shock return to professional boxing to take on Jake Paul in Texas on November 15.

Despite boasting a 50-6 record and being a previous world champion, fans have become concerned that Tyson won’t have the stamina to take on Paul in the upcoming bout.

That’s because Paul, 27, is some 31 YEARS younger than Iron Mike, 58.

And although Tyson has looked sharp and dangerous in the clips of his training camp he has shared online, UFC pundit and podcaster Joe Rogan has claimed that those videos are too short to prove that he is able to take on Paul.

Speaking on his podcast, Rogan urged Tyson to show extended clips of his training camp to prove he’s up to the task.

He said: “I wish he didn’t do it. I wish it wasn’t a thing. I wish it wasn’t a thing where a 58-year-old guy was going to fight a 27-year-old.

“That said, I fully support his desire to do it. What, is he going to live forever? No, he’s not going to live forever.

“Maybe he wants one more shot at it. Maybe his body can do one more fight.

“I don’t know. He looks great on the mitts, but I can look good on the mitts, especially if you’re watching 30-second clips.

“What you want to see is him sparring. You want to see him hitting the bag for multiple rounds. Let’s see three rounds hard on the bag. I want to see what you can do.

“I want to see how your feet move. I want to see what it looks like if you’re off balance when you’re throwing combinations.”

Tyson hasn’t fought competitively for nearly 20 YEARS, meaning his last fight – a 2005 defeat to Kevin McBride – took place when Jake Paul was just eight years old.

The veteran fighter lost three of his last four pro fights, showing signs of physical decline towards the back end of his glittering career.

And he has already had to delay his bout with social media star Paul after an ulcer flared up earlier in the year.

All that said, Tyson has insisted he is ready and raring to take on ‘The Problem Child’ in the ring.

Telling Fox News earlier this month that you can “bet your life” that he will take on Paul.

Adding: “I’m always going to test myself. I’m always gonna push the envelope. I’m always very nervous and apprehensive until it gets closer to the fight.

“Then, I understand this is reality. I’ve been through this many of times, and I know how to handle this situation.”
