Moment Okowa Arrived At PDP Headquarters For Screening [Video]
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Thursday afternoon arrived at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Headquarters, Wadata Plaza in Abuja.
Naija News reports that the Delta governor is at the party’s secretariat to attend the vice-presidential screening exercise scheduled by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC).
Governor Okowa, who was accompanied by some of his aides, was welcomed to the PDP building by some party members and officials.
The Delta governor is set to be screened as the running mate to the party’s 2023 Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Recall that the PDP had set up a committee to screen its vice-presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
In a statement on Tuesday night, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, had said the new committee to screen the vice-presidential candidate was pursuant to Part VI, Paragraph 14 of the Electoral Guidelines of the Party.
According to the opposition party’s mouthpiece, the PDP NWC had approved the nomination of the party members to serve on the Vice Presidential Candidate Screening Committee for the screening/verifying of the nominated Vice Presidential Candidate for the 2023 general elections.
The committee is expected to be chaired by Tom Ikimi, with other members as Capt. Idris Wada (rtd), Osita Chidoka, Rt. Hon. Binta Bello, Austin Opara, Prof. Aisha Madawaki and H.E. Fidelis Tapgun.
