Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Ooni Of Ife Speaks, Makes Urgent Appeal

The Ooni Of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has weighed in on the Muslum-Muslim ticket fielded by the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The APC presidential flag bearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu had unveiled former governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima as his running mate on Sunday, In Daura, Katsina.

The ticket has been trailed with various reactions.

Sharing his thoughts on Tinubu’s decision to pick a Muslim running mate during a phone interview on TVC’s YOUR VIEW, the monarch stated that one needs to be sensitive about religion as it is a very important thing, but Nigeria’s problem is bigger than religion.

Speaking further the Ooni went on to say that the crisis in the country has put it on survival mode, hence the reason to look beyond religion and find a way to put things in order.

The monarch went on to appeal to political gladiators not to put religion aside but first solve the problems in Nigeria collectively.

Meanwhile, a former Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, has expressed full support for the choice of Kashim Shettima as the running mate of Tinubu.

The APC and Tinubu have come under heavy criticism from groups and individuals such as the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, over the choice of Shettima as the vice presidential candidate of the ruling party. Read more
