National Convention: Buni, CECPC Members To Meet APC Senators
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Committee (CECPC) will meet with Senators of the ruling party on Tuesday.
Naija News reports that the Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi, made this known in a letter read by the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, during plenary.
According to the letter addressed to Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Chairman of the committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni alongside members of the committee would meet the legislators at 2 pm.
The Senate leader, in the letter, said the meeting would avail the Buni-led Committee to brief the lawmakers on the forthcoming convention slated for March 26, 2022.
He further disclosed that the former Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Abdulaziz Yari would also address the caucus.
Meanwhile, a former Senate President, Dr. Adolphus Wabara, has disclosed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) might lose Abia State if it tampers with the zoning arrangement in the state.
Speaking with newsmen in Umuahia Monday, Wabara stated that the next governor should come from Abia North where it started in 1999 or from Ukwa clan.
The Secretary, Board of Trustees of the PDP added that anything short of allowing power to come to Ukwa or rotate back to Abia North in 2023 would spell doom for the party.
He stated the PDP might lose the state to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) if another Ngwa man tries to succeed the incumbent governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, who is also a native of Ngwa.
