The head coach of Nigeria U21 Volleyball Boys Team, Sani Mohammed says his players will excel in the forthcoming African U21 Boys Nations Championships in Tunisia.
The African U21 Boys Nations Championships is scheduled for 12th to 23rd August, 2022 in Tunis, Tunisia.
Mohammed revealed during one of the tune-up matches that each player knows what is at stake adding that other African Nations know that the Nigeria U21 boys are the team to beat in Africa.
The former National setter said he will not put any player under pressure because they have all played at the highest volleyball championship.
Mohammed said, “These set of players are ready to make a bold statement at the African U21 Boys Nations Championships in Tunisia”.
They played at the last U19 Nations Cup and won, now it is time for them to prove themselves at the U21 Championship.
“All the players have their own abilities, they know that the only mission we have in Tunisia is to qualify for the FIVB U21 Boys Championship”.
“I know most African teams are afraid of this team because of their pedigree; the players have been consistent and in top form for the last three years”.
“My boys are not under pressure; I have told them to play their various games but the most important thing is to play to instruction”, he added.
Mohammed commended the Nigeria Volleyball Federation led by Engineer Musa Nimrod for ensuring there is continuity in age-grade volleyball.
“I want to applaud this current board led by Engineer Musa Nimrod for believing in continuity“.
Stressing that If the age grade volleyball is hugely invested in, Nigeria will produce more than four senior national teams.
“I was with the U19 and I attended two African and World U19 Championships. It means that the younger players of this country stands a chance of playing through the age grades before featuring in the Senior Nations Team“.
