Nigerians Battling With Incompetent Visionless Leaders – IBB
Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has stated that Nigerians are expressing resentment towards autocrats, mediocre, ethnic champions, incompetent and visionless leaders in the country.
Babangida shared his thoughts on the current situation of the country during a visit by the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Iyorcha Ayu, alongside other members of the National Working Committee at his Hilltop Mansion in Minna, Niger State.
Reading from an already prepared speech, Babangida noted the importance of the political leaders to become the wind of change and get things done the right way, while also stressing the need to seize the moment and adequately manage the complexities of the competitive party and electoral politics with the interest of the public at heart, Naija News reports.
He said: “If we have failed to adequately manage the complexities of the competitive party and electoral politics since independence. We now have a golden opportunity at our present crossroads to turn in the direction of pursuing politics as a public interest project, in line with moral and statutory provisions of articles 13 and 14 of the constitution of Nigeria.”
