Nigeria’s U- 21 Volleyball Team Departs Abuja For Africa V/ball Championship In Tunisia

Ahead of the African U-21 Volleyball Championship Nation’s Cup in Tunisia, the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod has charged the players to go all out and pick the ticket for World Championship for Nigeria.

Nimrod gave the charge while biding the team farewell at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna training camp on Friday, August 12, 2022.

He said “our target for this championship is qualification for world championship.

“We are building the team for African Games next year and the next Olympics, and I believe you guys will make us proud.”

According to Engineer Nimrod, the players who are Africa’s U-19 champions have moved up to playing for U-21.

Urging the players to take note of the big player from North African countries stressing that they are good in U-21 and they know NIgeria is good too, they will prepare against Nigeria.

In an interview with sports writers, Coach Sani Mohammed Musa of the male U-21 men, said that the team are African champions and featured in World Championship twice.

We know that the North Africans would be battle ready for NIgeria, they will leave no stone unturned in preparing well.

It is left for us the coaches and players to go and do our best at the championship adding that they will be wary of mostly the North Africans including hosts Tunisia.

Captain of the team, Abari Michael said that they are fully prepared for the championship.

He said “we are U-19 champions and have gathered experience that will help us to excel at the championship.

The team later presented a portrait of the NVBF President, Engineer Musa Nimrod, thanking him for helping them build their career.

The players and officials depart for Tunisia today, for the championship.
