Nine PDP Govs Arrive Rivers Govt House For Meeting

Nine governors elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have reportedly arrived at Rivers State Government House for their scheduled meeting.

Naija News reports that the opposition party governors are scheduled to hold a meeting today in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital to discuss crucial issues ahead of the 2023 general election.

Part of the governors’ agenda at the meeting is believed to include plans to reclaim power at the central level of government.

The Director-General of the PDP Governors’ forum Cyril Maduabum who made this known in a statement on Sunday added that the meeting will also discuss the state of the nation and will be presided over by the chairman of the forum, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State.

Ahead of the meeting, a Gala night to be hosted by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike will take place.

Naija News understands that thirteen governors are expected for the meeting in Port Harcourt, but as of press time, only nine have arrived at the proposed venue.

Among those in the state are the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal; Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Sen. Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State; Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu; and Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State.

Others are Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ifeanyi Ogwuanyi (Enugu), the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mahdi Aliyu, and Rivers State Governor, Nyemson Wike.
