Ogun: PDP Goes Spiritual, Clerics, Candidates Hit The Street Under Heavy Downpour
Candidates, leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State have taken to the streets to seek the help of God ahead of the 2023 election.
Naija News reports that religious leaders from different denominations stormed the PDP secretariat in Abeokuta asking for God’s intervention during the campaign tours and for success at the polls.
The PDP Chieftains and the religious leaders knelt down in the heavy downpour and prayed about the upcoming election.
The idea, the party said, was to seek the face of God for His protection before and during the campaigns and to guard against the “evil plans” of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Ladi Adebutu said the PDP was seeking victory for all its candidates, from the presidential to the House of Assembly.
Adebutu stated that despite the race to obtain power not being easy he would not give up on making sacrifices for Ogun and bringing prosperity to the state if elected into power.
The secretary of the party in Ogun, Dr Sunday Solarin stated that the party must do all it can within its power to guard against all spiritual forces that might want to work against the party.
