Osinbajo: Buhari’s Aide Reacts As VP Declares For 2023 Presidency

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad on Monday made a list of 2023 presidential aspirants under the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Naija News reports that Osinbajo on Monday officially announced his interest in running for the office of the president in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

He made his intentions known after a consultative meeting with some governors elected under the APC last night at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Osinbajo’s declaration came after several months of speculations whether he would run for the position or not.

The VP has though in several interviews earlier debunked the reports of his presidential ambition, reiterating his commitment to serving the country in all capacity solidly behind his principal, President Buhari.

Reacting to Osinbajo’s declaration today, Ahmed in a post on his Twitter page today, said the list of aspirants vying for the post of presidency is getting longer with Osinbajo’s decision to join the race.

Ahmad tweeted: “Bola Tinubu, Dave Umahi, Rochas Okorocha, Yahaya Bello, Rotimi Amaechi, and Yemi Osinbajo.

“The list is getting longer”.

In another post, the presidential aide admonished aspirants to campaign respectively.

Meanwhile, unknown gunmen have killed a chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Atakumosa East Central Local Government Area of Osun State, Gbenga Ogbara.

According to reports, Ogbara was killed in his house in Ogangan, in the early hours of Monday.

The development was confirmed by the spokesperson of the state police command, Yemisi Opalola.

Opalola in a statement noted that the investigation is ongoing and promised that the perpetrators will not go unpunished.

She said, “The APC Chairman was killed around midnight by some gunmen. Policemen have since been deployed to the area. The investigation is ongoing on the matter. The criminals will not escape justice.”

The governorship election in the state is fast approaching with the state Governor, Gboyega Oyetola seeking to contest for a second term in office, Naija News reports.
