Osun 2022: Oyetola Wins In Aregbesola’s Ward
Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has recorded a resounding ward victory against Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola in Saturday’s governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This is as Oyetola cruised to victory at Ward 8, Ifofin, Ilesha East of the Minister in the ongoing primary election according to results obtained by Naija News.
Though Aregbesola is not contesting, his anointed candidate, Moshood Adeoti lost in the ward results.
It was gathered that Governor Oyetola got a total of 309 votes while Adeoti recorded 146 votes in the ward results.
Speaking on the development, the leader of Aregbesola’s loyalists and supporters at Ward 8, Ifofin, Ilesha East, Saheed Adegoke told newsmen that the Minister wasn’t around to vote.
He explained that Aregbesola told them he has an assignment from the President.
“He told us that he had an assignment from the President,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has asked all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure a peaceful and credible gubernatorial primary election in Osun state.
In a statement released on Saturday, Argbesola urged his supporters to participate and be respectful to other party members in the primary election, urging them to avoid any form of violence, brigandage, and disorderliness.
The minister also asked party members, especially his supporters, to be resolute to cast their vote, not to be intimidated and scared away.
He, however, wished them a peaceful, free, fair, and successful primary election.
