#OsunDecides2022: Margin Between Adeleke And Oyetola As Collation Ends

As it stands, the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Osun State governorship election, Ademola Adeleke, is the expected winner of the exercise.

The collation of votes started at midnight on Saturday and ended Sunday morning. At the end of the exercise, Adeleke won 17 out of the 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Osun State.

Oyetola earned a total of 375,027 votes while Ademola garnered 403,371 from the polls.

Naija News understands that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to make an official announcement of the winner of the polls but as it stands, Ademola gave a margin of 28,344 votes.

Supporters of the PDP have taken over social media with celebration ahead of official declaration, Naija News reports.

Meanwhile, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member was hospitalized earlier after his head was smashed during the Osun State governorship election.

The corps member was attached to the Atakumosa West Local Government Area of the state.

Due to the development, the collation officer for Atakunmosa West LGA, Adeola Oluigbe announced that the result of the polling unit where the incident happened was cancelled.

Naija News learnt that the victim was the presiding officer at the polling unit.

It was unclear yet what led to the disturbing incident but the affected corps member is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed health facility.
