Pastor Adeboye Named Me Abraham, Father Of Nations – Tinubu

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has revealed the name the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, gave him.

Tinubu claimed that Pastor Adeboye called him Abraham (father of nations) when his wife Remi was ordained as a cleric under the church.

The former Governor of Lagos State stated this during a meeting with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Tijaniyya sect, and other Islamic groups on Monday.

He said, “The day my wife was ordained a pastor, I was there. Pastor Adeboye gave me Abraham. I said what is the meaning, he said watch out, the father of nations.”

Tinubu’s statement is coming amidst the controversy around the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the ruling party.

The APC presidential candidate had chosen the former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima as his running mate, against the call by some Christians in the party to pick a Christian as the vice presidential candidate of the party.

The decision of the ruling party to pick a Muslim as its vice presidential candidate has seen some people accuse the party of an agenda to Islamise Nigeria.

While the likes of Lawan Babachir and Yakubu Dogara have threatened to boycott the campaign of the APC in 2023.
