Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has claimed that Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool have what it takes to win the English Premier League this season.

After analyzing the 2-2 draw between Manchester City and Arsenal for Sky Sports, Paul Merson highlighted the “togetherness” of certain teams as a key factor for winning the league title this season.

Merson specifically mentioned Arsenal and Manchester City as possessing the unity required to mount a serious title challenge.

He emphasized the significance of togetherness in winning the Premier League, noting that Arsenal, in particular, exudes this quality, which has been absent for the past 21 years.

He also included Liverpool, now under the management of Arne Slot, as a team that possesses the necessary cohesion to be competitive in the title race.

In contrast, Merson expressed doubts about the togetherness within Manchester United, suggesting that this could hinder their title ambitions, as he stressed that Arsenal are well-positioned to be a strong contender for the title this season.

Paul Merson said: “Arsenal have a togetherness and you have to have a togetherness to win leagues. They have got that in abundance and so do Manchester City.

“I think Liverpool has it as well but – and I don’t want to pick on one team – I don’t see that at Manchester United, for example.

“It’s what you need to win league trophies, and Arsenal are firmly in the running this season.”
