PDP Chieftain Asks Ikpeazu To Step Down For Abaribe, Reveals Why He Is Backing Peter Obi

A former governoship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Dr Sampson Orji, has asked the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, to shelve his senatorial ambition.

He made the call while speaking during a live radio programme, “Open Parliament,” monitored in Umuahia.

Orji, who was a former commissioner for Trade and Commerce, asked Ikpeazu to step down for incumbent senator, Enyinnaya Abaribe, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

While stating that Ikpeazu cannot defeat Abaribe, Orji said the who is the PDP’s candidate for the Abia South Senate District, is not as qualified as the incumbent lawmaker for the red chamber.

He said that if allowed to choose between Governor Ikpeazu and Senator Abaribe, he would vote for Abaribe against Ikpeazu as “it is like asking one to choose between “experience and lack of experience.”

Orji declared his support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

The former gubernatorial aspirant said he would mobilise support for Obi not because the Labour Party candidate is his fellow Igbo but because of his antecedents.

Former APC Presidential Aspirant Dumps Tinubu, Endorse Obi For President

A former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019, Charles Udeogaranya has abandoned the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu.

Udeogeranya in a statement released on Tuesday declared support for Peter Obi.

According to Udeogaranya, the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the ruling party is a clear sign of an Islamisation agenda and a despotic government.

The former presidential aspirant described Obi as the most credible candidate to lead Nigeria out of the woods in 2023.

Udeogaranya said there is a grave need for Nigerians to shun primordial sentiments and vote for the right candidate because “times like these demand patriotism and self-help to make the best decisions for our country Nigeria.”

He expressed his bitterness about the state of the country’s economy which has driven Nigerians to the lowest ebb of desperation.
