PDP Crisis: Ayu Speaks On Submitting Resignation Letter To David Mark
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu has denied submitting his resignation letter to the former president of the senate, David Mark.
There had been reporting on Monday that Ayu had submitted his resignation letter to Mark following the agreement that the party chairman and the presidential candidate can not come from the same region.
Ayu in a statement released through his media aide, Simon Imobo-Tswam, described the claim as false.
He further stated that he was elected as the National Chairman to lead the party for the next four years.
Ayu noted that if he decides to resign from office, he would submit his resignation letter to the Deputy National Chairman (North) and not Mark.
He wondered why he would submit such a letter to mark who is not even a member of the National Working Committee of the party.
The PDP National Chairman said the people that are desperate to remove him from office are not even aware of the constitution of the party.
Ayu called on members of the party and PDP to ignore the report-making round that he had submitted his resignation letter.
He added that he is on an assignment to lead PDP on a rescue mission by February 2023.
