PDP, NNPP Members Decamp To APC In Yobe
Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala-Buni on Friday received some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor, while receiving the new decampees, charged them to work for the unity of the party and its success in the 2023 general elections.
Naija News understands that Buni was joined by the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammadu Gadaka, and his Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Alhaji Aji Bularafa, in receiving the new members today at the party’s secretariat in Damatru, the state capital.
The development was confirmed to newsmen in a statement released by Buni’s Director General, Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed.
Meanwhile, a popular politician and legal practitioner, Daniel Bwala has officially joined the PDP.
The development was confirmed by Bwala himself in a statement on Friday evening on Twitter.
Naija News recalls hours after the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, revealed his decision to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket by picking former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate, Bwala announced his decision to quit the ‘broom’ party.
Tinubu announced Shettima as the APC vice presidential candidate despite calls against the Muslim/Muslim ticket ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Bwala in a post on his Twitter account announced he is dumping the ruling party on principles and convictions that he holds so dear.
