PDP Primary: Rivers Delegates Ignore Atiku’s Greetings
Former vice president and presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday was ignored by delegates of the party from Rivers State.
The presidential candidate of the main opposition party had greeted the delegates at the venue of the party’s presidential election.
Atiku who had left the venue of the party’s special national convention returned to the venue around 5:40 pm in company with a former lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye.
The former vice president who had acknowledged the cheers of some delegates at the venue was ignored delegates from Rivers State.
It was noted that despite the greetings from Atiku, the delegates refused to respond.
The delegates from Rivers State are believed to have the interest of the state Governor, Nyesom Wike at heart.
The Rivers State Governor would be hoping to clinch the presidential ticket of the main opposition party ahead of the former Vice President and other presidential aspirants in the party.
